Xfinity branded TG862G in bridge mode for voice calls?

Hi,

My Xfinity branded TG862G is around 5 years old. I keep getting emails from xfinity to upgrade my modem (am on a 250Mbps plan) . I just bought the Netgear CM600 which does not have voice (tel) ports. Can I use my TG862G in bridge mode just for voice and connect it to the CM600? I have an ASUS wireless router that today I connect to the TG862G and now I plan to connect to the CM600.

Thanks for any technical input on whether this setup will work.

The 862 and CM600 wouldn’t be connected to each other, you would have to split the cable to each device but it can be done. Check to make sure that device can handle the speeds you’re paying for.

Thank you CCAndrew. Comcast folks are here right now. I will let them know.
