Hello everyone. I had new service installed in my apartment and I cannot get the land line to work. Comcast sent me one of their modems initially but I sent it back because I had one of my own I wanted to use. I called to let them know and while they were trying to switch the modem on the account the tech told me he was repeatedly getting error messages.
In order to make the modem change he had to redo my agreement and make changes to my plan. The land line never ended up working so I waited a few hours and spoke to another representative and repeated process. Now when I check the account online I see the old modem on there but I still have no dial tone. When I call the number it goes straight to voice mail. It seems like there is phone service because the timer on the phone works like a call is in progress. But no dial tone.
Can anyone on here help me? Or should I just cancel the account and start the process all over?

The land line now works. I found a post on here saying to ask the 24/7 online chat about "sik installation" and it began working shortly after. Not sure why the phone techs could not resolve this but it doesn't matter now.
