How long to transfer voice service

I recently (last Sunday, it is now Friday) subscribed to Xfinity Voice and requested that my number be transferred from Vonage to Xfinity.

I am able to make calls using the Xfinity Connect app so I assumed the transfer was complete. However, when I called Vonage they acted like they had no record of a transfer request. Then as a test I called my home phone and it went to my Vonage voicemail and the Xfinity Connect app did not ring.

So my question is does it normally take this long to port a number or should I call Xfinity and ask what the holdup is? If this is common I’ll save myself the hassle of calling tech support.

Have you checked what the phone numbers are? It’s possible you were given a native (new) number instead of it porting. Vonage numbers are iffy to port because of rate centers. A successful port should only take 3-5 business days. Call in to verify where your port stands

Yes, Xfinity shows my correct number.  And when I use the Xfinity Connect  phone calls and text messages use the correct number as well.  It's as though as I have service with both Vonage and Xfinity for the same number at the same time.
