Calls go to voicemail when I pick up the home receiver and try to answer the call.

Calls coming in via my Xfinity voice line cause my home telephone to ring, but when I pick up and answer it, there isn't anyone on the line.  Then I find a message from them on my voicemail.  Why is Xfinity sending my incoming calls to voicemail when I answer the phone and how can I stop it?  I have the number of rings set at 5, but the calls are going to voicemail as soon as I pick up the receiver and try to answer the call.

I know phone issues are never enjoyable! Have you already checked your advanced call forward settings to ensure they are set to forward the calls? You can view https://comca.st/3yi69vM to make sure it is not set up.
