Call forwarding

I added on XFinity telephone last week to my account. I had AT&T landline for a long time and have Panasonic phones. I set up call forwarding to my cell phone by dialling *72 as suggested by XFinityand, setting up for trans  fer after 4 rings. However when I tested the system, the calls get transferred immediately to my cell phone when the phone rings. I have now disabled call transfer. Can anyone help?

Hey there, Chaks, thank you for reaching out here! I'd love to help with the call forwarding. Just to clarify, where did you go to set up the number of rings?

If you didn't do this already, I would highly recommend using Xfinity Connect. View this link to ensure the number of rings is set up correctly through the website: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/advanced-call-vorwarding-voice-2go

Let me know if this helps.

I set it up 4 rings for call forwarding on "My Account" website. I have since removed th call forwarding set up by removing the No of rings feature and also the phone number itself. Now calls ring on my home telephone only.

I would like to understand this feature: If I list my mobile telephone number as the one to transfer calls to,  does it ring immediately or after the number of rings that I set it up for? Is the no of rings setup only for activating the voicemail?

Thanks

Thank you for clarifying! When you set up call forwarding, the calls would be forwarded immediately. You can change the number of rings before the call is diverted to voicemail. You're correct, it looks like the number of rings you set up is only related to the voicemail. Sorry for any confusion on my end!
