Today I received a read receipt for an email that I sent from Comcast webmail, even though I have never requested a read receipt and do not want to receive read receipts. Yesterday a Comcast agent who participates in forums, "ComcastMichael," posted that Comcast is hearing reports of similar problems. ComcastMichael asked users experiencing this problem him to Private Message him for assistance, but the option to "Send a Message" does not appear when I click on his name as he directs in his posts. ComcastMichael, can you please reach out to me?
I agree, I have been randomly receiving read receipts since Nov. 13. I never request a read receipt. Looking at past emails, I know it randomly happens with emails external to @comcast.net, (just happened this morning). I haven't seen any read receipts for emails within comcast.net.
