Do you mean that the entire folders pane is gone?  If so, look at the extreme lower left corner of the Inbox page and you should see a toggle to make it reappear.   " Show/Hide"

You have a new account with a new account number.  New account = new email address so your folders for the old email address wouldn't be there.  Whoever had the account most likely deleted your email address from their account, which is why you wouldn't be able to log in to that email.

You might be able to recover the your old email address, but not the folders or the email, but since the account was in someone else's name you might not be able to recover it [although I think you should be able to].  The only way to find out if you can get that old email address back is to call Customer Security Assurance at (888) 565-4329.
