how do I delete email contacts

In the past few years I received emails from folks and responded.  But they are NOT part of my regular established email address book.  Now every time I wish to send an email to someone on my address book when I click on compose and then on "To" I get all these hundreds of people who I contacted once over the years.  How can I clean out what comcast calls "contacts".

From the Inbox page open the Address Book in the toolbar at the top.  On the landing page in the left pane click on "Collected addresses".  In there you can delete any addresses you want to.  The software has a feature that remembers the email address and name of any contacts for inoming or outgoing emails.  You can control this by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the Inbox page, then on Settings>>>>>>>Mail>>>>>Common.  There you will see the option to turn it on or off.
