Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

I can literally be in the middle of composing an e-mail message and Xfinity boots me out of the system, sends me back to the sign-in page.  This happens whether I check the "Keep me signed in" box or not.  It's getting very annoying.  Any advice appreciated.

Try clearing out your browser's cache/browsing history. When you have done that, close out the browser and re-start it in a fresh session. If that doesn't do it, then try using a different browser.  There was a problem two or three months ago with this issue, but supposedly that was fixed.

Re: Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

Hi, and thanks for the suggestion.  I tried that, but it did not help.  I contacted Comcast/Xfinity customer service and they "re-synced" something.  The rep spoke so fast, in heavily accented English, that it was indiscernible what he was saying and, hence, I am unable to provide those details.  The problem still exists, but it seems to be less often.  That's hard to judge.  What is of great concern is that within less than 24 hours of a customer service contact I received an e-mail from IDnotify that my e-mail address has been found on the dark web.  IDnotify is something that was provided to me gratis after the Experian hack in January 2019.

What does one do when you are notified that your e-mail address has been targeted by the dark web?  The only suggestion from IDnotify was to change the password associated with my e-mail address.

Yes, change the password to something stronger than whatever it is now, and also change the secret question and answer.  Monitor that account for any unusual activity going forward.

Re: Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

Thanks for that advice.  Sadly, the random signing me out of my e-mail has continued.  It just did it four times within 60 seconds.  I am on the verge of dumping Xfinity for my e-mail and using my Gmail address from now on.  I am so frustrated and angry too because I spend $298 a month on Xfinity services.

Thanks.

Re: Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

This started happening to me yesterday in connection with a forced reset of my password because someone had attempted to log in too many times.  I have been trying to write an email and have been logged out 3 times in 5 minutes.

I too am frustrated with comcast issues like this and terribly high bills.  No discounts for customers who have stayed.  I have another home in florida and use internet with YouTubeTV and love it.  Looks like gmail and Youtubetv will be my setup here in south carolina too.

Megz here again. It's still occurring. Looks like I will be migrating to Gmail. Nobody at Xfinity seems to care enough to even reply here 😞

Re: Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

I apologize for the delay on this, it took us a while to track down the cause as it was outside of the email ecosystem.

The fix for this has been implemented and should resolve the problem of automatically signing out even if you click the "stay signed in" checkbox. If you still see this you may have to clear your browser cache.

Re: Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

I too have been experiencing this problem for many months now.  It doesn't matter if I'm using Chrome or FireFox browser.  And I just switched from Windows 7 to 10.  It's an ongoing problem and someone should have fixed it a long time ago.  I've tried all the "fixes" suggested here but to no avail.  Therefore if Comcast asks me to fill out a customer survey, I always give them a 1 or 2 - out of 5.  If I didn't have a vast Comcast email account, I would have dropped them months ago.

Re: Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

It still continues. I may be the latest victim of this shut-out issue. My husband tried getting through to Comcast to no avail. And yes, with cheap service techs. I truly admire anyone who can learn the English language-or any other-but service should not be outsourced to countries where heavily-accented English is extremely difficult to decipher. Comcast is more interested in paying for commercials to say how great they are - rather than working at being great! The same greed has infected all of society. Money is God. I use it for junk mail now, but when you have to comunicate with a company in your email, for example, the wasted time is a bummer.

BTW - I congratulate myself for getting through this without using four-letter words!

Re: Xfinity randomly signing me out of e-mail

Thank You for trying but I've had this problem over a year. I've asked here and called them a hundred times and accomplished nothing. I even had a repair man come to my home and check every single thing, put in new connections and the same problem. Personally I never had this problem until Comcast informed me I wasn't getting all the speed I was paying for and sent me a new Router/Modem (about a year ago) Then my problems started and I've had Comcast's high speed for close to 20 years. I blame it on the modem even though the repair man said it was in Comcast's equiptment and not on my end. I sure hope they find a cure soon, I hate switching companies but my best friend has AT&T and doesn't have this problem. Really annoying when I've written a long email and it times me out before I can proof read and hit send. Please keep trying to find a cure. Maybe ask others if their problem started after receiving their latest modem. Thank You!
