Sending monthly email blast to members of my church
I have become the communication person for my church. Part of the job is to every month email a newsletter (a single page PDF file - about 400 Kb in size) to our 1200 families. (~1600 email addresses as some familes have multiple)
I use a program called Max Bulk Mailer for Mac OS. It asks me to set up my SMTP server. I am using my Comcast personal email settings but keep getting authenication error messages. I did finally get it to work, but after sending 25 emails, Comcast closed down the SMTP server.
Is there any way to use an email blast program with Comcast SMTP servers? Anyone know what settings to use? Do I need to make Comcast aware some way that I am not a SPAMer and that this is a legitamate email blast?

Residential Comcast accounts are restricted to not more than 100 recipients per message, and not more than 1000 a day. My guess is that is what is causing the problem. See here---------------

For any further questions about this you can call Comcast security. Also, you might consider a business class account which has different sending limits.
