Everything is set right per Xfinity & Apple, but no email with Xfinity. Another hour and1/2 of wasted time and no answers, then disconnected as usual. This is a HUGE issue. I receive bill notifications to an email account that will not work. Removed account, added account. Verified passwords, all port numbers tried. That was from my knowledge, not theirs.

Now I get an error saying it cannot be set up with SSL. Maybe Apple can help. Xfinity knows nothing and could care less. SIX HOURS because they charged someone else's credit card on my auto debit and kept adding late charges when I don't make the payment! One &1/2 hours because email stopped working. Gmail fine, but I NEED to get into my Xfinity email. Then, of course I get disconnected when they don't know what to do.
Try using webmail to log in to your xfinity email account. Sometimes the imap servers go down. That has been happening a lot. The phone support people are not been made aware of these outs or clueless. Take your pick. Did you try on other systems? You can also try changing your imap settimgs from "imap.comcast.net" to "imap.ge.xfinity.com" without the quotes. Try webmail first at "comcast.net" click on the mail icon on top of tha webpage.
Same here. I need it and depend on it,I cannot view bill notifications for utilities, etc. I can use Gmail, but that is of no help. No one knows that account. I use it for on-line purchases so as to not get on mailing lists. I also had suddenly after years been receiving a ton of spam. I already read up on forums. The same has happened to other long time Comcast Xfinity customers, so that too is Xfinity, not me

First thing to check-------is your Safe List enabled? To see, on the Inbox page click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, then on Settings>>>>>Advanced settings. If it's on disable it. If it's on, nothing will get to your Inbox except contacts you put on that list.

After one tech left me with no phone, no internet & no television in attempting to fix this email issue who promised to call my cell phone @ 5:00 PM, he never did. I called, was on hold for 56 minutes. A new tech was sent the following afternoon. . I am not comfortable using a hotspot to begin with, but Comcast/Xfinity email holds no valid certificate, meaning anyone can (and has) via camera, which I now tape over on my iPad, which in fact Mark Zuckerberg and "white hat hacker" advise. see everything. I know because this hacker had my passwords. I would strongly caution customers on this) My email settings are the same. I don't know what he did to fix everything. I usually know more than they do. I believe, in further research that some IPs are blacklisted. I found quite a few connected with Comcast are. Had the first tech knocked out everything in my house, I would have possibly attempted this, which I suspect he did. I was told on the phone that the servers were down. That was a bold faced lie. I asked if dedicated servers were used for email, as that was my only issue. He did not know what that meant, zapped everything off and that was that. I really ought to get a credit, but not calling & sitting on hold for an hour trying to explain that I had not thing for over 24 hours due to a tech, had spent 3 hours before the final call. I do find another setting for Xfinity Business. I tend to think it was blacklisting due to no certificate. According to both Xfinity & Apple my settings were correct, and I did try other ports. Tech sites (which I won't say which) tested the settings to fail due to IPs being blacklisted due to no valid certificate. As I see this issue has been ongoing for quite some time with different individuals in completely different areas of the country, that sounds plausible. Removing that ought to be able to be checked by a tech over the phone as your average customer would have no idea what this is.
Iam2008 you provided a lot of info here so I have a few questions: Do you believe you were hacked and that is the reason for the email issues? If you believe the IP address was blacklisted and that you were hacked, I recommend you reach out to our customer security assurance team as they can resolve the IP issue and then fortify your account security. The hacking happened several months ago. It was the largest security breach in the U.S. to date. So much so that a website was set up. My passwords were used on 72 sites. I did change my Comcast/Xfinity password. IT guys had to do calls on many businesses. As far as email, I don't ever click on links. I received an email from my Comcast email to my Comcast email. That, of course got me to open it. My passwords were noted to quite a few different sites. I know how to see the source, but it was already known. This made national news & most internet providers gave the website to check if they had been compromised. In this case, I will provide a link that Xfinity ought to send to every customer if they haven't. I still think the issue with my email was IP numbers being blacklisted. I found very many associated with Comcast/Xfinity before the 1st tech knocked out my television, telephone & internet altogether. Inputting my correct settings which are still the same, but now functional, were not working per tech sites due to having no certificates what so ever. If you look in your email settings, you will see that line is blank. Initially, I thought the certificate needed to be renewed, updated or added to trusted certificates if it was seen as an untrusted certificate. As far as emails from Xfinity to Gmail, it is the inclusion of links. Gmail,receives from any other sender. It will not receive from Xfinity and will show in Xfinity as a permanent Daemon failure
And STILL not receiving all Xfinirty mail. This includes bills and codes needed after clearing history to access a website to see a bill I never received in the first place. I then have to telephone as I am locked out of account (credit card, etc.) due to Xfinity blacking emails altogether. Not in spam, unwanted, nowhere.
I’ve tried the fixes to no avail...no email on any apple devices through regular mail icon. Yet, at xfinity.com I can get my email. Nothing about my iPad or iPhones was changed in any way. Anyone from xfinity that can give me a fix method. Thanks
i am having the same issue. multiple calls to comcast, just has me delete and reenter email account verifing account settings which are the same as they were 3 days ago when email worked fine. What i find interesting is that i am only getting this error when on my home wifi. Both my comcast emails stop refreshing email on my iphone mail app and say error imap.comcast.net not responding. then i switch off wifi and go to cellular data and refresh mail and they come in. switch wifi back on and refresh and error comes back. i have reset router, modem, checked all settings, again nothing different from 3 days ago when it was working.
I have not been able to get comcast email on my iPhone 10 since January 14, 2020. It says "the mail server 'IMAP.comcast.net' is not responding". I've tried everything. I see that others have had this problem, but I'm not seeing any solutions posted. Can someone please tell me how to fix this? I am able to get my mail from the web, but I need it on my phone.
