I have an iPad with Outlook on it. I have a comcast Pop email account. When I try to set up Outlook on the iPad, I am only given the IMAP accoutn type option not POP. The POP account on my Mac using Oulook works great.
Any suggestion for how to get it to work on the iPad?
In iOS you have to "trick" the program to get to the POP3 option. It's been a while since this has come up in the forum so I'm going off of memory here---------go ahead and start to set up the account like normal. But when you get to the point where it asks you for the user ID and password, don't use the real password--------type in any gibberish you want as long as its not the real password. iOS will try to validate it. After about 20 seconds or so, it will say that it can't verify it, and you will see the option to try and enable it manually. That is where you will see the option to use POP3. But like I said-------its been a while since anyone has asked about this in the forum.
your solution was right on!. After Comcast and Apple both told me it couldn't be done, I switched two iPads from imap back to POP3. Thanks!
