IN BASKET emails disappeared

All my emails in in basket disappeared; the help says to go to settings, but I cannot find

the verbiage of 'how long to keep emails' or any other option to talk about quota, deleting after x days, or anything of that nature.

What happened to my emails - they are not in email; we tried to 'recover' them

Comcast help didn't know where they went..

Do you have the account enabled on another device using POP3?  If so, it may be downloading and then deleting the messages.

Then call Comcast security and ask them to look at your account---------------

As a precaution, I would change your password to something stronger than whatever it is right now, and also change your secret question and answer. Suddenly vanishing emails is a common sign of a malware infection or a compromised account. Run a complete scan of your machine with your A/V software to see if it finds anything wrong.

I changed password.  I got a message from comcast that I had reached my quota

I would not receive any new emails until I had deleted / removed some emails.

It did not give me an opportunity to remove emails - just deleted all mail in my in basket.

comcast should have given me a warning before immediately removing my in box mail

On the Inbox page, click on the gear icon in the upper right coner.  At the bottom of the little menu that drops down you should see what your current storage usage is.  You get 10 Gb in a Comcast account.  If you are not at that level call Comcast security and ask them to look at the account-----------

I called the help desk, they tried to have me 'recover' from my trash folder, but the messages from in basket were not there....  Is the number you providing going to give me a techy person to figure it out?

The security line is a different group.  They can tell if something is wrong with the account.  Suddenly vanishing emails can be a common sign of a compromised account or a malware infection.  You should also run a scan of your system to see if it finds anything wrong.
