What software are you using to scan with?
What email client are you trying to scan to? webmail?
FWIW, HP updated their HP Smart app, and I find it harder to use now. Also, trying to troubleshoot this for you I got the same error messages you did. I had to re-setup my printers' wireless connection in order to get it to work, and the whole thing was not intuitive, especially since my IP address hadn't changed. I did not mess with the firewall.

I didn't actually change it, but I let the printer set up the wireless connection again using the touch screen and it gave me the same IP number. I have an Envy 5540.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. Comcast says its the HP printer, all connection are and working and viable at Comcast. When I go to scan to email, Comcast agent says the printer is cutting the signal not certain as to why. He suggested to uninstall and start fresh, in process as we type. Regards,
Flo

Keep me posted on this, will you? Also, you never said what software program you're using to scan to email.
When I use Windows Fax and Scan after scanning I can Forward the scan to email with no problem and it goes to my default email client, which is Thunderbird.
