Fixed Outlook 365 Error With Comcast

I spent an hour with support and they couldn't get this working for me.    My email was working on all my devices and my other comcast accounts were also working.   This one comcast account was not syncing only on my pc with office 365.   No matter what I tried, Outlook kept saying "Something went wrong, we could not save your settings."

If you go into your control panel on Windows (I have version 10) and change the view so you see icons instead of categories, you will see an outlook configuration app.   Go in there, highlight the account and edit the settings.   You might have to drill down to see the advanced options for SMTP.    This is great because the "test" button will tell you what part is failing.   Took me 60 seconds and I fixed everything.

For whatever reason, this outlook configuration actually works, even if the settings are the same.   I think there's some kind of coruption going on behind the scenes.   Wanted to share this because it was driving me nuts and comcast support couldn't assist me.   I'm an IT professional with 30 years experience, so I don't give up easily.    🙂

Thank You! All of a sudden I kept getting the error message that you described. I followed your instructions and was able to get outlook and comcast sync'ed again. Thanks for sharing!

Ditto, it is not there.   I am using Outlook as a part of Office 365

Nevermind,  the icon is labeled "Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016 32bit)"

I havent tried this yet, but I am so darn frustrated.  SAME thig happened to me yesterday.  Was on the phone with a Tech forver... thought it was fixed.  I changed the secondary account password, also changed it in Outlook and in Mail on my iPad.  THOUGHT it was fine, but today same darn problems.  You will see my post for help by CCCarole if you wantt to read it.AND today no matter what user I use it says the password is wrong!

Outstanding.   This actually worked.  In control panel nothing was showing up.  Searched "Outlook"  and it found it under Microsoft Outlook or something like that.  Thanks VERY VERY much.

Revised Comment:

In my excitement I "thought" everything was working fine.  Turns out this partially resolved the propblem.  "Incoming" mail is received however outgoing not working.

When sending I get error "Sending reported error (0x800CCC67) The Server responded 421 resomta-ch2-11v.sys.comcast.net  CSI IP (IP numbers) is not permitted to send messages.  Please contact support if you feel this is in error.

Have tried port 587 and 465.

Anyone have any thoughts?
