How can I download my emails. I wish to store a backup copy locally. Is the file type proprietary or just plain text or PDF, etc when downloaded?

How can I download my emails. I wish to store a backup copy locally. Is the file type proprietary or just plain text or PDF, etc when downloaded?

To download your email highlight the mail in your Inbox.
On the menu bar that starts with Compose click on the three bars and choose Save as file.
In the popup box click on Save file.
The downloaded file is an .eml file which is plain text, and you will see the headers and all of the HTML markings if you get your email in HTML.
