Can't save emails

When composing email the "save" option is gone leaving only send or discard. How do I get it back?

I'm having the same problem and can no longer save e-mails.

Same.  I can't file any of my emails to any of my folders which I have many of for specific reasons!  I am not impressed with this new forum Xfinity!

Re: Can't save emails

I assume you're talking about "Save as Draft"? I was just composing an email and needed to save it to finish later. That button/feature is now GONE.

What's up this time Comcast? Hopefully they're aware of this problem and looking to fix it. Didn't realize how often I use it until it vanished on me.

Re: Can't save emails

I found that clicking on "discard" gave me the option to "save as draft" or "cancel" or" discard message."  This is absolutely ridiculous!  😫  Please give us back the "save" option.

@athena14

Thanks for the tip! I don't know if this was something that was changed and that we weren't notified about or what, but at least there's a work-around to the problem. I don't know how many times over the years there's been a problem with something and we were all left to fend for ourselves to figure out what's going on.  Sure would be nice if someone official would post something when these things happen to let us know they're aware and that they're working on it. Instead we're always left to wonder. (and what Comcast customer wants to CALL them?!)

Re: Can't save emails

I'm having the same problem. I always saved to drafts when adding an attachment because that was the only way to see the attachment. Now I see the attachment appears in a small box in the email so I can click on it to verify what I'm sending. But I can't save to drafts. It's like Comcast has no idea what a business person needs to do when sending an email. We need to be able to save our work to either review or finish later, and we need to double check that the attachment we are sending is the right one. Please stop messing with our tools.

Residential email isn't meant to be used for a business, even small business.

Save to Draft is now under Discard at the bottom of the Compose window.

All---------in addition to clicking on "Discard", you will get the same prompt if you click on the "X" in the upper right corner to close the window.

Re: Can't save emails

I have two "problems" with this...

#1 Why was it done in the first place?

#2, Without being informed of the change, "Discard" to me means just that. DISCARD. Who wants to spend a lot of time composing something and then when they need to save it, click on Discard? I don't want to get rid of it, I want to SAVE it. Only after another customer told me that the option to Save as a Draft is there AFTER clicking Discard, was I even aware of it. Why would you put that option under a DISCARD button? Huh? What? Um...Huh?

I've said this ad nauseum over the years, but I wish we would be KEPT INFORMED of changes. And frankly, this one is unnecessary and confusing. (IMO)

Re: Can't save emails

To all y'all who can't use the Draft option, are you just using your phones, or laptop??  I still have the draft option, which I never use...I just went to look at it, and there's a ton of emails that I sent to "trash"...really not sure why they're under draft...I'm not sure what y'all use it for, but I see something about saving emails...can't you just look under what you "Sent"?

Re: Can't save emails

There are a number of reasons to save drafts, but I think they often come down to being able to double check what you are sending. Sometimes it's because you're interupted and want to get back to it later. Or maybe you want to let it sit a bit before sending it. You might want to get an email ready, adding your recipients and attachments, say the night before so you can send it first thing in the morning. I was using drafts primarily to be able to open up an attachment I was sending to make sure I was indeed sending what I intended. However, that problem seems to have been solved as attachments can now be opened directly from the email you're composing, so it's not as big an issue for me.

Re: Can't save emails

I type from my desktop because I like a larger keyboard and it's comfortable at my desk.  (to answer someones question) So at least on this, all I can do is click on Discard to save a draft.  I often compose long emails, and work on them in parts. So being able to save them to work on later isn't just convenient, it's a must.

The thing is, to me, why was this done in the first place? And why, of all places, would you put a SAVE feature under a DISCARD button? WHAT? Until I was made aware that it was even there (by another customer) I wasn't about to hit a Discard button after spending a lot of time composing something.

I guess I'm just repeating myself, but not only do I think all of this was unnecessary, it was done poorly. How about INFORMING ME of these changes? I'd composed a long letter, and spent a LOT of time doing it, only to find my Save button had mysteriously disappeared.

C'mon man. Sigh...

Re: Can't save emails

Saved emails are now hidden under the folders list, instead of being in the drafts folder.  This is nuts.

Re: Can't save emails

Thanks for that information on where to find the "save" draft option!  I agree, it is a dumb move by Xfinity to hide the save draft option under the "Discard" button.  Hopefully Xfinity will het the message and change it back to a third button option as before.

Re: Can't save emails

The latest iteration: click on "discard" and get the option to "save as draft." 🙄
