I reset my xfinity password and am now not receiveing email on my iphone Xs. I reset the SMTP password in the mail settings on the iphone, but still no email.
Am I missing something? Is there another step?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Did you reset the password for both the incoming and outgoing servers? You have to do both or it won't work.
Yes, I rest the password in both locations and still cannot connect to my comacast email account. This is happening with both my iPhone and iPad.

Exactly what happens when you try to sign into the account? Are you getting any error message?
I have this problem too. iPhone 7 and iPad both affected for incoming email. Current error message is "Cannot get Mail, Logins are disabled for "desktop"." The account "name" is desktop.
On the other hand, the outgoing server works and sends messages to the "desktop" account and to other comcast.net email accounts. I spent significant time with a comcast agent, who ultimately escalated the issue; however, no comcast specialist has contacted me concerning the escalation.
I receive a popup that says "Cannot Get Mail" - The mail server 'mail.comcast.net' is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.
I have verified the account info and my desktop client is working with the same account info.
