Blocking and Deleting Junk Email

I have a large amount (perhaps as many as 10000 junk emails that are unread and have accumulated in my inbox.  Is there a clever way to delete them and block that sender from sending me even more junk mail.

If you are using the webmail interface, just select the mails and click on the SPAM icon to move them to the spam folder. This also helps to train the filters.

Do you mean they all came from one sender?  If so you can use a filter to dump them before they get to the Inbox.  See here------------------

Scroll about halfway down the page for blocking instructions.
