Between last night and today, emails disappeared from all folders that contained subfolders

Between last night and today, all emails disappeared from all folders that contained subfolders including my Inbox.  Most seem to have been 'recovered' via new folders that were created within "My Folders" with the new folder name being the original folder name with "restored-lost-folder-" and a longish string of characters appended to the end of the original folder name.  This happened with the main Inbox plus 3 other folders.  However, there are 2 additional folders (with subfolders) for which all the emails are just gone.  Interestingly, the subfolders within these folders are fine with no emails missing.

I tried contacting comcast by both Chat and phone.  Chat agent supposedly 'synchronized' my email with no visible result then supposedly 'escalated' me to a phone agent who told me to wait 2 hours for the restore to complete.  Big surprise 7 hours later, I see no change at all.

Any advice?  Needless to say incredibly frustrating and scary!

Interesting update:  I tried private messaging 'ComcastRob' as I saw that he suggested this on some other posts where people has lost emails.  I never got a response, but 2 days later, I see that the last 2 folders for which all the emails had disappeared have now been similarly restored (i.e. new folders created with same name plus '-restored-lost-folder-' appended to end of folder name and all missing emails contained therein.   So I think I have everything back now (albeit, not in its original folder, but I can deal with that).  Still very scary to me how this could have happened in the first place!!!
