An error occurred while sending mail:The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: resomta-po-06v.sys.
Hello:
I am using the Mozilla Thunderbird email client, and I have the SrufShark VPN.
Suddenly, when I try to send mail from my comcast.net email account, I am getting this error message:
An error occurred while sending mail:The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: resomta-po-06v.sys.comcast.net......
I check my Sent folder, and it looks like my email was sent, and that error message does not appear all the time, just sometimes, it seems like at random intervals.
I see that other comcast useres with Thderbird and other VPNs have had a similar issue, but it appeared to be something to do with their phone and wifi password.
I do not have wifi on this PC with Thunderbird and the VPN, and I do not plug my phone into this PC, so I do not think the issue is phone related.
However, I did have a lot of trouble recently, after the latest iPhone update.
Comcast suddenly kept dropping my wifi connection every few minutes.
I think I solved that issue (the iPhone update apparently changed my setting to log into netowrks automatically, even into my home network), but I still get that random email error message above.
Any solution would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
