Touchscreen connectivity
Recently removed combo XFinity Router, modem, switch and WAP and purchased and connected:
1 - Arris SB-6190
2 - PFSense Firewall
3 - Ruckus WAP
All is working fine.
I also have XFinity Home with one touchscreen. It is working from the 3G backup but I cannot connect it to the LAN using an ethernet cable or wirelessly to the Ruckus WAP.
Speaking to Customer service person she told me I would need piece of hardware to be able to connect the touchscreen to the internet.
She was unaware of the price or any monthly charges for this piece of hardware and personally I do not want any additional hardware on the network.
So is there a way to connect the XFinity touchscreen to the current LAN via an ethernet cable or the current WAP?

Thank you CCAndrew.
Understood.
I do not want to install any more devices on the network and do not want to incur any service charges so I guess will continue to utilize the 3G failover for the alarm until I replace it.
I was hoping to do a cold reset and reconfiguration of the security system such that it would use an ethernet cable which is my preference versus a wireless connection.

pete_c1 hey there, thanks for posting!
There would be a service fee (one time) to send a tech out to install the router. If you change your mind, please let me know.
