Security Camera

I have had my fill with comcast.  Does anybody know if you can just use the cameras to do video monitoring using the app without paying for the Home security 24/7 monitoring through comcast?

I have a mix of two camera models.  The Icamera 1000 and the xcam2.  I am have had a really bad experiance with comcast over the past week.  The cameras are spotty and unreilable at best and it seems like I have to reboot/troubleshoot everytime I open my app to view my camera.  Very poor performance.  I called last week to complain about it becuase it has been this way since install.  I can't rely on them to consitantly work.  Well, after being shuffled around from person to person and through and endless maze of automated bots and call backs, I finally got to a live person who genuienly seems like they wanted to help. So as a consiliatory effort, they asked if they could move me to a differnt plan to save me some money.  Reluctantley, I agreed.  I asked the man specifically if I was going to lose any premium channels and was told "No, you will lose two channels and that is it, but they are not your premium channels".  It was two channels I had never heard off.   So, I agreed and they sent me a link in my text message.  I looked at it, thoguht I understood what "preferred channels" meant.  I had it confused with "premium channels". and agreed.   I ened up loosing all my premium channels and when I called, they said "oh those are not included, they are ala carte" and you can add them back.  At a charge fo $40.00.  This wiped out any savings I would have realized and actually put me paying more than what I was.  And since the package was a "legacy" package, they couldnt give me back what I had.  But they offered to buy me off with a one time credit that did not even touch what the original deal was.  BAIT AND SWITCH...they got me.  So at this point, I am calling to get Dish Network to come put in a sat and I will dump all my TV sercvices, my home security and the stupid land line that I didn't even want but was in the "package" deal.  I will keep my internet as it is actually decent.  But the rest of it can go.
