Call the 877 number.  They stepped me through a process (about 10 minutes) where you first delete the sensor from the base-station memory; they give you a code for use in Settings that allows a sensor to be deleted on the base-station.  Next you re-pair the sensor during the following: Take the sensor off the door/window, then hold the tamper switch continuously (my sensor had a black rubber square near the battery but there are a variety of sensors used which have different switchs), remove the battery for 30 seconds, replace battery, only then release the tamper switch.  The sensor is now blinking indicating it is ready to pair with the base station.  Replace sensor on the door, open and close door so the base-station "sees" a new sensor.  Press the appropriate response on the touchscreen.  Next you can give to sensor a name. Done.
