Indoor/Outdoor Camera
I think we have the very first version of the cameras that came out with xfinity home which are all black and very outdated. I was looking at the new ones online and was wondering if these have motion sensors if you want to put them outside? We only want them to record if motion has been detected from the camera. Currently, our cameras only record if the motion sensor INSIDE is tripped by motion. It doesn't do any good outside.

We don't yet offer the ability to set a recording only when a camera itself detects motion as part of our Rules service. The newer (white) xCam cameras do support setting rules to take video clips when an indoor motion sensor or door sensor is tripped, or at specific times of the day which you can configure. Our newest xCam2 cameras do not yet support those rules.
A majority of our customers who purchase cameras these days elect to take our 24/7 Video Recording service, which records video to the cloud for up to 4 cameras for at least 7 days.
While there is an additional cost for the service at $9.95/month - I have to say that it's pretty awesome and well worth it in my opinion. I can't imagine not having it now that I've used it for a couple of years. It's like having DVR for your home.
With the service, you are presented with thumbnail images in the Xfinity Home App, Portal or X1 App every time a camera detects motion, and the thumnail zooms in on what triggered the motion. You can also filter these images based on things like People or Vehicles. Once you select the thumbnail, you can review and even download the video clip, which includes sound (if you turn that on). In addition, you can review video for anything that occurred at any time from the previous week on the Xfinity Home portal.
I know that's not exactly what you were looking for, but I hope the info helps!
