Home Security Base Station Screen Saver

  1. Does the Home Security Base Station have a "screen saver"?
  2. If it does have one then how does one enable it?
  3. If the Base Station doesn't have a screen saver then is it OK to burn 24/7 without any negative impact on its long term performance?

Hi mctimmy!

The Xfinity Home Touchscreen displays are built with the expectation that they will be on 24/7, and a screensaver isn't required.  I have seen Touchscreens that are years old, and there is no burn-in or other display issues.

With that said, you do have several options with regard to what to display on your Touchscreen.  If you Tap on Settings and then select Display and Home Screen Options, you can choose to have the screen reset to a Security Screen (the default), a clock, the local weather, or a camera if you have one installed.

In addition, you can set the screen to go dark - and you can configure this to occur at certain times of the day if you'd like as well.  To access this go to Settings, Devices, enter your master code, and then tap on Touchscreen --> Do Not Disturb --> Screen Backlight and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can also dim the screen after a certain amount of inactivity.  For this go to Settings, Devices, enter your master code, and then tap Touchscreen --> Screen Configuration --> Automatic Screen Dimming.

Hope that helps!
