Sports Entertainment Package is a Joke!
I just spent the past 45 minutes arguing with Comcast Rep about the Sports Entertainment Package that is listed as a Premium option. I have had this package in the past, and I did not cancel it, however my current package I pay $695 for now is a regional package. I was told in an online chat that the following is the channel list for the Sports Entertainment Package.
"CMT, ESPN News, ESPNU, MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, NFL Redzone, NHL Network, PAC 12 Network, SEC Network, AND MORE"
I asked "And More"? and received this reponse--
"More Like
CBS Sports Network, ESPN Bases loaded, ESPN Goal Line, MILITARY ISTORY, NBC Sports, The Outdoor channel, PAC 12 network (again) and SportsNet New.
I am already getting a number of these, and I have called to verify that I can get the MLB network if I pay $9.95 for this package. I was told that would be 4 payments of $31 and NO it is not part of the package, nor is NHL, NBA etc.
Comcast, I used to get the sports entertainment pkg for $9.95/month and it wasnt broken out to regional and the sports package. You found a way to increase this package to $16.90/month, and are lying to your customers when they are asking what is in the package. I am seriously looking into going somewhere else, as I do not do business with Liars.

I wanted to chime in with a different take on the same subject. Around Sept. 9, 2018, xfinity was running ads in various mediums touting the $9.99 per month Sports Entertainment Package. While you had a problem with the actual content of the package, I was fine with it. I would like to have had the NFL Network and NFL RedZone without moving back up to a ridiculously-priced, higher-tiered plan. So, with due skepticism in hand as one always should in dealing with these types of companies, I logged into my plan to see how simple and straightforward adding this package would be. Uh, not so fast my friend, to borrow a phrase. First, it was not so simple and straightforward just to find this package in order to add it. Needless/pointless time wasted. Finally, I did find it, but then MY fun began. As I started the initial steps to add it, my CURRENT monthly plan info pops up, telling me it's $129.89 PRIOR to the addition of the package. The only problem is, said plan is actually $109.99. In order to add this $9.99 package, these sobs would up my regular existing package by almost $20 per month. Then additional time got wasted, as I tried to get an explanation from xfinity's chat capability. Zero explanation. I was advised to call their customer service, "since I was concerned about the price". I wasn't going any further. I could see where this was going... nowhere. No Sports Entertainment Package for me.
Why does every little thing with the AT&Ts and Comcast/Xfinitys of the world have to be a ritualistic dance?

To clarify cost: I just called today to add local sports to my Comcast triple play, with present total bill $143. The representative told me only sports package available, not specific channels. I was told sports package is $9.95. But sports package requires a Digital Starter with cost $67.20. I asked why a digital stater is required and representative stated that it is the way it is set up. The representative gave me other choice of different triple play bundle with sports package included which for me would be total bill of $205.12. I asked if online sports access only available. The representative said that is not available. So essentially it appears to me that Comcast is charging intial $67.20 fee just to allow customer ability to add sports channel package with its own cost. Total per month to add basic sports package $77.22, total per year $926.64.
