Why can we not be told that internet is going to be cut when it's planned maintenance

Hello, @crimsonsaturn. Thank you for your feedback about the notifications you get from us. Currently, you can check our website, or the Xfinity My Account app for planned Maintenance. Our Technical team posts a banner when that is upcoming. I see it about 5 days before it happens when I check the app. There is a banner at the top of the screen when I first login notifying me of it.
