Internet Essentials disconnected

I applied for Xfinity Internet Essentials, website stated I was approved and would receive an email within 2-3 days with my equipment shipment details. I have not received this email so I chatted with Xfinity about this matter. I was informed that yes my application was approved but my service has been disconnected. I have not even gotten the equipment to activate it. By signing up and being a new customer they are offering 2 free months as well. That making my bill $0 owed. How is my internet service disconnected without owing any money for a bill and I have not received the internet equipment to activate internet services??? No one seems to be able to answer my question

Did you recently move to where you are living now?  If so, it's possible the previous tenant had Comcast services and hasn't paid their bill.  An account it tied not only to a person but also to an address.  So, there is probably a block on your address because of that person.  In order to remove the block you will have to show proof of residency either by a lease or mortgage and a photoID.  Once that is taken care of your service should be turned back on.
