Help with replacing broken remote and returning equipment

One of my X1 remotes does not work properly and I want to return one of my basic cable boxes so I won't be charged.  With the stores closed and no support over the phone or at my house, how do I accomplish this.

I've been waiting for a replacement cable box since mid June.  I have spent hours on phone and on the online chat.  I am a heartbeat away from giving up.
