Activated Coupon to rent movie and still can’t rent movie

Hello!  After signing in, I have activated the coupon, to rent a movie.  Then I  go to rent a movie and it says I must make a payment.  I am on auto-pay and my balance isn't due for another 2 weeks.  No past due.  How can I rent a movie using the coupon?  I have signed in multiple times, it is just looping...this coupon expires very soon..l. I see I have 3 other coupons that expired because of this same issue.  Getting frustrated..
