Hi, jagcicls. We appreciate you visiting here in the community. We do have 4K-capable additional outlet boxes. We call them Xi6 boxes. Please take a look at this link for me: https://comca.st/3mQGtBS;
You'll see that: "Arris AX061AEI and Technicolor TX061AEI (Xi6) are wireless 4K X1 TV Boxes that let Xfinity X1 customers watch live TV without needing a coaxial cable connection. To stream video on an Xi6 device using WiFi, eligible customers must have Xfinity Internet, a Wireless Gateway with RDK-B firmware (Arris XB3 TG1682G, Arris XB6 TG3482G, Technicolor XB6 CGM4140COM, Cisco 3941T, Technicolor XB7 CGM4331COM or CommScope TG4482A) and have at least one additional XG1, XG2 or XG1v4 TV Box to act as the primary X1 device on the account."
Is this something you're still interested in?

the 4k companion set top box (xi6) uses wireless (to an Xfinity gateway/modem) or an ethernet connection to the Xfinity gateway. I have an older Sony sound system in one room using an xg4 and just put in an optical connector via an inexpensive breakout box for HDMI on Amazon.

Why does Xfinity continue to tell people that they must be using their internet equipment for the remote slave box’s to work? This is simply not true. I own my own modem and router and have 2 remote box’s. They work just fine!
