Why is it ok for Comcast to rip people off?

My apartment complex signed up for comcast internet service in every unit 3 months ago. An additional $40 would be on my rent every month and i would no longer be charged directly. I was already a comcast internet subscriber. I was instructed to call comcast to have my account changed over so i would no longer be charged directly. I did wait about a month and a half to call. And that is my fault, though this change over should be automatic in these situations because dealing with Comcast customer service is like getting hit in the head with a hammer. The first time i called about this i got someone from India who didn't understand what i was talking about at all i think. They told me they would look into making this change for me and call me back the next day. They did not call me back. A month later i call and talk to a lady named Tanna that i believe was here in the US. They seemed to understand but had difficulties doing what i asked. Told me they would get with their supervisor to make this change and call me back on Monday. I spoke to them on Thursday August 27th. So i should have gotten a return call on monday August 31st, but i didn't get the return call till wednesday Sept 2nd, but that was while i was at work and couldn't answer. The message tells me its a simple switch but i would be out of internet service for 5 mins and they didn't want to do that to me with no warning. So just now on Friday attempt to call to get this done, but i can not at all get a live person on the phone. It keeps telling me they are tied up transferring people to work at home and i have to use the automated help service which can not do this.

So how long am I going to be charged twice? This should absolutely be and automatic change for existing customers when an entire apartment complex is given service. But i'm sure that isnt done for the same reason Comcast is making this as difficult as possible for me to do... they want me paying double. So PLEASE help me and stop ripping me off.

BTW. Comcast you absolutely have my permission to make this switch without talking to me first. If i have no internet for 5mins, even up to an hour please just DO IT. I don't need advanced warning.
