Effect of "equipment no longer included in TV package" on Customer Owned Equipment (COE) adjustment
My June 16, 2020 Comcast bill tells me that Comcast the "primary" TV Box and its remote are no longer included in my "TV package" and will be charged separatly. $4.85 will be charged for the TV box and $0.15 will be charged for it's remote ($5.00 total). The cost of the TV package did not change; instead a $5.00 "Equipment Discount" is included in the bill for the next 12 months. After the 12 months the monthly bill effectively increses by $5.00. Yet another way for Comcast to make more money.
Because of this change I lost the $10.00 Customer Owned Equipment adjustment I was recieving because for the two cable card tuners I use (instead of Comcast owned equipment), but I gained the $5.oo "Equipment Discount" for a net $5.00 increase in my monthly billl. I am not charged the $5.00 for the TV box and remote (which I should not be).
I don't understand is why my bill increased by $5.00 per month because of this change. No one at Comcast can explain (to my satisfaction) why my bill should increase by $5.00 per month. And after 12 months my bill will effectively increase by $10.00 per month (when the $5.00 "Equipment Discount" expires. I'll be using my own equipmnet but pay the same amout (or more) than those who are using Comcase equipment. I don't get it.
