You've blocked ecobee.com as malicious

During some sort of upgrade you did, you blocked 216.220.52.141 as malicious, causing ecobee thermostats to go offline.  This ip does not ping thru your own routers.  Ecobee.com tech support is aware of this issue and they, along with many frustrated xfinity users, are waiting on you to fix this.   There are already posts popping up on Reddit and other social media platforms about this issue.  When will this be fixed?

And you need to get the word out that this needs fixed on your end to your support staff.  I have called in 4 times in the last 2 days and got a runaround each time.

Thank you for your choice of service providers, @user_wavrn1! We can help and want to help ensure you're able to enjoy your ecobee Thermostat with your Xfinity services. I see the ecobee3, ecobee3 Lite, and ecobee4 all listed to work with Xfinity Home Compatible Devices. Have you tried restarting and/or uninstalling and reinstalling your Xfinity Home app or the Ecobee Thermostat troubleshooting steps listed here? We will get this sorted out!

I was able to get my ecobee working by turning off advanced security in Xfinity. Not a great solution, but at least it's working again.

Seriously, I just got off the phone with Ecobee after 45 mins and they told me to call Xfinity. After another 30 minutes with Xfinity, they claim it will be fixed in 2 hours. Don’t believe it.

Thank you for reaching out to us @user_8ws5m5! Have you tried to see if the Ecobee shows as a blocked device in the Xfinity App? To allow blocked devices to have access using the Xfinity app, please:

Select the Security tab
Then select Advanced Security to view the security risk Dashboard.
Find the list of security risks
Identify the unauthorized access attempt for the device you want to provide access to
Then follow the instructions to Allow Access

Alternatively, While we do not recommend turning off the feature, other users have reported disabling Advanced Security has worked as a temporary solution.
