Xfinity X5 DHCP Issue
I have my Xfinity X5 gateway dishing out IP's
Range 10.0.1.5 to 1.0.1.25
Once in a while I get a DHCP device that will get 10.1.1.5
It will partially work (dont understand)
I can release and renew and it gets the same IP
I can forget the Wifi and reboot and it gets the same IP
I then resort to rebooting the X5 gateway and the device connects and grabs a correct DHCP IP 10.0.1.#
Has anyone else had similar issues and found a solution?

Thanks for responding fast
It sometimes issues a 10.1.1.#
My range is in this format 10.0.1.#
A reboot of the gateway and it will then issue a 10.0.1.#
I can sometimes get partially to sites such as google
But if I try to get mail it will fail when it has 10.1.1.#

If addresses are being assigned that are outside the range the gateway should be assigning, then I’d check your LAN settings such as the Subnet Mask, the Beginning and End IP Addresses.

Ok. I would make sure your gateway is set to the following, esepcially the subnet mask and the gateway IP:
If it is already that way with your desired range, then I would open that range to 10.0.1.2 through 10.0.1.253 and see how that goes.
If it still does not work, then it is probably a firmware issue, then there would only be really a couple of ways to rectify if that is the case:
