Xfinity Wifi unable to connect to Apple MacOS Big Sur
My daughter just moved to her new dorm, she was able to connect her iPad & iPhone x to the Xfinity Wifi using our home Xfinity ID and passwords but failed to connect to her Apple MacOS (version 11.2.3 .) She received an error message " "Xfinity .mobileconfig" is damaged. You should move it to the trash" when installing Xfinity profile from here: prov.wifi.xfinity.com.
Would it make difference if she has installed it before she left home? Her Mac has never had an issue with wifi when she was at home.
I am not tech-savvy , does she needs a wireless Modem/Reuter, apple thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet adapter and coax cable to get Xfinity wifi to connect to her Mac at her new apartment? She said her room doesn't have a cable .
Alternatively, she might have to set up her own account, but before doing that I will try to find a solution, as the Xfinity subscription costs $70 per month, any help will be appreciated!

Hello, @Sutton2000, we will be happy to do all we can to help you and your daughter with this issue connecting the Apple device to Xfinity Wi-Fi. She doesn’t need to buy any equipment, routers, or modems to use the Hotspot. The hotspot seems to be working since her other devices can connect. Have your tried turning off the other devices and resetting that Apple computer? I know you prefer not to sign up for another $70 subscription so I hope this basic troubleshooting can help. I think this is a good place to start. Let us know if this resolves the issue.
