xfinity wifi hotspot not connecting to internet

I have three devices that I frequently connect to the local xFinity wifi hotspot.

A Samung Galaxy smartphone

An Apple iPhone

A HP laptop

For over the past two weeks they have been able to connect to the local xFinity hotspot but none of the devices was able to connect to the internet through the wifi. I thought it was an issue with the local hotspot since all the devices were affected.

However, just today (8/8/22) the iPhone suddenly started connecting again. I have no idea why it suddenly started working again.

The Galaxy and the laptop still will not connect so it must be an issue with the specific devices.

The Samsung Galaxy phone tries to connect over and over again but then it just says ""Couldn't get IP address".

The  HP laptop says "No internet, open"  when it is connected to the xFinity wifi.

I tried resetting and restarting each of the devices but nothing seems to work. I tried having the devices forget the xFinity wifi and then added it again but that didn't work either.

The laptop and Galaxy phone will connect to the xFinity wifi but then they can't connect to the internet. They won't even get to the prompt to enter the Xfinity ID and password.

@Greg.Aaron Hello and thanks for letting us know your concerns. You said this is happening on an Xfinity Wi-Fi Public hotspot. Are you able to connect to your in home network without any issues? Also, is this happening at a specific location, or multiple Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspot locations?

@XfinityAbbie I only connect my main computer via a hardline to a modem. I don't have a home wifi network. I just connect to the hotspot which has been working for the last three years or so.

My connection through the modem is working fine.

I haven't tried any other xFinity wifi hotspots to see if they work.

@Greg.Aaron Okay, thanks for those details. There are only able to have a few devices at a time connect, so if it has reached that limit, that may be why you are not able to connect. Have you tried to forget the network, and reconnect to see if that resolves the issue?

I no longer work for Comcast.

I have tried to have it forget the xfinity wifi network and then have it try to reconnect but that didn't seem to work. The issue started at the same time with all three devices losing internet at the same time. Now the iPhone works again but the Galaxy phone and laptop still don't work.
