Xfinity speeds - Motorola MG8702

Hello, I'm having some trouble with my service, I recently upgraded from 400 Mbps to 1,200 Mbps service. While I have seen a notable increase in my upload speeds, to ~40mbps from ~20 Mbps before, my download speeds basically look exactly like they did prior to the upgrade, capping out between 400-500 Mbps. Please help as this is unacceptable

Nice modem. Should perform adequately.. Curious when you go here - https://internet.xfinity.com/network/health what does the output look like?

Reason for asking is online speed test websites not always the most accurate, and hopefully the in network results provide ground truth.

Also as a side note have had this issue with windows machine and found out the NIC card was not 10/100 rated.. Only push what you can push through the pipe so to speak.. Added a USB Gigabit ethernet adapter and seems to improve performance.

Bottom line, not noticing any degradation of streaming or wireless device connectivity but as stated everyone wants to see the big numbers that getting billed for.

 Just my .2cents

 Thanks and good luck.

everything seems to be good with the connection. On wifi, I’m consistently pulling around 450 mbps download, hard wired I am around 750. I feel like I’m not getting the full potential and I don’t know what to do.

Hi @user_008d70, thank you for reaching out through Xfinity Forums. As a consumer myself, I understand you wanting to make sure you get the upgraded speeds your paying for. Our team would be happy to investigate. It is possible during the change your modem did not get a necessary provision and corrected bootfile. This does happen occasionally and is a fairly easy fix. I will need to gather your personal information to determine if this is the case. We will circle back around to the public forum after we have determined the cause.

Can you send us a private message with your full name, name of account holder (if different) and service address? To send a private message, please click the chat icon next to the bell in the upper right corner. Click the “notepad and pen” button. Send the full message to our shared support handle “Xfinity Support”. We look forward to hearing from you!

Did this get resolved 2 months ago?

I just installed an MG8702 and speed (was 950Mbps with an S33) dropped to 200-300Mbps. Support says take it up with Moto.
