Xfinity PODS

Does any version of the Xfinity PODS work in bridge mode or do the XE2 allow connecting to the ethernet port on the POD. My issue is once I connected the 3 XE1 pods it took my route out of bridge mode and I no longer have access to my Western Digital Mt CLoud. I thought the Xe1 would allow me to connect it to the ethernet port on the POD but that didn't work.  Will the XE2 allow me to connect the cloud drive to the POD ethernet port and it work ?
