Xfinity over counted the amount of data used in the month of July for my account
In the month of July Xfinity has calculated an absurd amount of data used for my account. Almost nobody was using the internet in the middle of June through the middle of July as we were traveling but somehow I received an email from Xfinity saying that I had used up almost 1.2 TB of my data even though there was no gaming, streaming, or heavy uses of data going on. In the months of January - June when we were at home and using data for Zoom, emails, and youtube on a daily basis we had only used a third to a half of the 1.2 TB. So Xfinity how is it now that when we were not at home and very little data is being used at home were we almost exceeding 1.2 TB? Also why was one of your agents from your technical team instead of working with me on the issue started to offer me internet plans for the same price with an included streaming kit that I didn't need. This is a scam! Why is there no easy way to see how much data is being used on each day of the month? Until I get a report of how much of my data was used on each day of the month and by which device you guys have no right to begin charging me an extra 10 dollars for the extra 50 GB. This is a scam. Xfinity start taking accountability for your lies!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to reach out on our forum about your data usage @user_61. I have three people working from home so I know it's important to have enough data. For questions about your data usage, please contact our Customer Security Assurance department at 1-888-565-4329. Please keep in mind that data is calculated from the 1st of the month to the last day of the month, regardless of your billing cycle. You can add unlimited data now and it will cover all usage for the month on July. Your data allowance will reset of the first of August. If you'd like to discuss adding unlimited data to avoid usage charges, you can send us a private chat by clicking the Peer to Peer chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, click on the pen and paper icon, then enter “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section. Please include your name and address and I'll be happy to help.

I am in the same boat! July was the first month I was anywhere near 1.2 TB of data, and conveniently also the first month they elected to start charging for the data cap here in IL. I am on track to hit 1.2 TB of data in August as well! I checked my data for previous months and have always averaged about 830GBs of data. Why the sudden change? Nothing has changed with my data usage at home. We only stream on 1 device at a time usually and you mean to tell me 95% of your users use less data than me? How about families of 4 or 5? This is a scam!!
