XFINITY network can't find IP address

We activated hot spots on our new xFi router/modem, last Sunday. XFINITY and xfinitywifi both appeared as available networks, on Tuesday. They both worked fine on Tuesday and Wednesday, but this morning, both had disappeared. I turner off/on hot spots; xfinitywifi reappeared, and worked after I signed in. XFINITY also showed up, but won't connect, saying "can't find IP address". Do I have to wait for this to be provisioned, again? My questions, are, after working for 2 days, why'd they disappear, at all? Why can't XFINITY find IP address?

Oh no. I appreciate you making us aware the services are not working properly. I am here and will investigat @KarlWS

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?

Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

 Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 Press Enter to send it

 See https://comca.st/3KQF8q9r for an example.

Long story, short. I received a new xFi gateway, last evening, and installed it this morning. It said, "can't find gateway" during installation, but after retrying, it worked without a hitch. The XFINITY and xfinitywifi hotspot networks appeared as available networks within a half hour, and are both working fine. Hopefully, for more than 2 days. Our original xFi gateway was only 10 days old. At least for now, it looks like the Xfinity hotspots are functional, so I guess it was a defective modem/router. (Our personal network side was not a problem.)
