Xfinity issue connecting to my work VPN

I'm having problems connecting to gpcloud.connect.boeing.com and gpcloud.connect.boeing.com.
I called my work IT and they say Xfinity is blocking their URLs. It is working when I use the hotspot on my phone, so the problem is in Xfinity side.

I run through the steps mentioned here: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/unable-to-connect-to-internet-with-my-work-laptop/697e54a8bef17951d874fce6?commentId=697e570fbef17951d87543bb and it is not solving the problem.

As a note, this was working on Thursday 02/12 and has been working for the past weeks. I noticed the problem Friday 02/13 in the Morning.

See ping/traceroutes below to the two endpoints, showing it is not reaching out destination but it is pass the home internet gateway.

I need a solution to this, otherwise I cannot work, if I cannot work this internet connection is useless to me.

Also, the xfinity assistant/chat is completely useless and frustrating for this. How can I open an actual ticket/complain or talk to a human?

I am having the same problem which I first noticed on Friday, 2/13.  I deactivated Xfinity Advanced Security and I will re-test tomorrow but that may fail as it did for you.  It worked for me on Wednesday 2/11 of last week.

I saw instructions about adjusting the firewall to "Low Security" but this has not been possible for a while since all modem changes are done with the Xfinity smartphone app.  I called the Help Desk.  The tech remoted to my PC and did the same ping tests that I did.  It's not a problem with Boeing servers.

Below are my network tests:

Thanks for replying. Your reply and the other post linked on my initial post confirms there are at least 3 people impacted. The timing you see matches mine too.

Boeing Help Desk told me there was several other people impacted and pointed to problems at the ISP level. I can confirm it is ISP level because if I connect to a mobile hotspot then the Boeing servers are reachable again, but I cannot work connected to a mobile hotspot for obvious reasons.

I just tested it and it is still broken.

@Xfinity Support any progress on this? You have several folks that won't be able to work tomorrow because of this issue.

The problem still exists as of 2/16 9:00 AM PST.  [Edited: "Personal information"] Two other guys in my work group are able to connect.  I'm not sure where they live.  So, the issue could be with outdated Internet routing info existing in certain Xfinity service areas.  I called EHD on Sunday and the rep said like 10 tickets were created for people on various Internet providers.

Hey there user_1mme29, and thanks for using our community for support! You're in the right place, and I'd be happy to help with the VPN issue you outlined 👍 I know how important it is for you to get connected for work, so I'd like to jump further into this on the account right away.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the full service address associated with your account to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Hello user_1mme29 and @XfinitySeth :

I did some more research on this problem.  I haven't been able to independently confirm it.  The fix that I will try next is to turn of the modem/router for 20 minutes to force a change to a new public IP address and hopefully a functional route to Boeing's GlobalProtect VPN servers.

Around February 13, 2026, there were reports of Xfinity routing policy updates that caused specific "prefixes" (IP ranges) for enterprise VPNs to be misrouted. When an ISP updates its "Filter List" or its BGP peering agreements, it can "black hole" traffic for specific customers while others remain untouched.

Specifically, as of February 13-14, 2026, Xfinity customers (particularly in the Pacific Northwest/Seattle area) have reported that traffic destined for Boeing's GlobalConnect gateways is being handed off to a specific internal Comcast router—be-2412-pe12.seattle.wa.ibone.comcast.net—and then simply disappearing.

The "BGP Route Leak" Explained

Internet routing relies on BGP (Border Gateway Protocol). Think of this as a game of "telephone" between big networks (Xfinity, Lumen, Boeing).

  • The Glitch: Recently, a configuration error (likely a "Type 3/4 route leak") occurred where one network inadvertently told Xfinity it had a "faster" path to Boeing's IP addresses.
  • The Result: Xfinity updated its "routing policy" to use this new, broken path. Because this update is applied at the regional hub level, you are affected, but your coworker in a different city—who connects to a different Xfinity hub—might still be using the "old" healthy map.

Xfinity's "Advanced Security" Filter

Xfinity has a proprietary layer called Advanced Security that inspects encrypted "prefixes" (the first part of an IP address).

  • The Issue: When Boeing (or its provider, Prisma/Lumen) updates their server certificates or IP blocks, Xfinity’s automated security filters can flag the new traffic as "suspicious" and block the route entirely.
  • Why it started 4 days ago: These filters update on a rolling basis. Your regional hub likely pulled a "bad" security definition on Friday morning (Feb 13), which is why you can ping the server from your phone (AT&T) but the Xfinity router refuses to even try.

I had my modem off for 7+ hours and I still got the same IP address.  I am unable to work from home and this problem is personally and financially impacting me.

@XfinitySeth - I would also like a chat.

Sure.  I am unable to connect to Boeing's GlobalProtect VPN servers.  The GlobalProtect error is "unreachable host".

Pings fail and tracert packets don't get there.

IPv4: [Edited: "Personal Information"]

IPv6: [Edited: "Personal Information"]

I have done some research about this problem.  I am wondering if Xfinity changes to BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) caused invalid Internet routes to be created such that packets from my PC get lost.
