Xfinity internet blocking Spotify
Xfinity internet is blocking access to Spotify.com and the Spotify App on my smart TV.
I've tried all the normal stuff (resetting modem/router, plugging the devices directly into the modem bypassing the router) I've uninstalled the app on my TV, nothing works. If I open Spotify.com on my phone connected only to LTE it works, or if I hotspot the TV to my LTE phone it will work.
Why is Xfinity blocking this specific App/site? How can I stop this from happening?
update 12/22: It seems to be working again with no action needed on my end. Apparently something Xfinity did both caused and fixed the problem.

Spotify is back up for me, at least in the browser (haven't checked the Apple TV yet).

Same. It looks like they're blocking a CDN that Spotify needs to load the page.

I noticed this too, a couple of days ago. Apple TV and all laptops can't open spotify, but iphone app is fine (even w Xfinity wifi on). Spotify either never loads or has the 'no healthy upstream' error. After looking up the issues, apparently this is a recurring issue for Spotify in general.

So anyone from Xfinity going to comment on this? What's the deal?

Same problem, fine connection on 5g, Xfinity WiFi gets atrocious connection speed to Spotify CDN. This issue from the Spotify side matches my symptoms: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-for-Developers/Fastly-CDN-is-returning-non-working-IPs-causing-timeouts-but/td-p/6596308
They use Fastly as their CDN, don't see an issue with other Fastly sites currently, but I'm sure Spotify has exclusivity on their IPs.
Issue began yesterday AFAICT.
Work-around: idk about their Electron apps but their mobile apps don't require the CDN and have been working fine for me.
This is a really annoying issue and I have a suspicion it's related to other periods I've experienced where my home internet simply won't load some sites. My neighbor has another provider, similar usage to me, and doesn't run into these problems.

Oh wait I'm a dummy, just realized this is a DNS propagation issue. Setting your DNS to one with a less silly TTL than Xfinity fixes it. I recommend Cloudflare - 1.1.1.1. Looks like XFinity's DNS won't evict the bad Fastly entry for a few more days.
This can be done in either your device's network settings, or in your router's. I recommend setting it in your router and leaving it there forever since Cloudflare's DNS is faster and runs into issues like this less. Log into your router control panel, and set the DNS to 1.1.1.1. Unplug your router for a few seconds and plug it back in and things like SmartTVs should pick up those settings I figure.
Hope that helps y'all! Happy holidays

I will try the DNS solution. Meanwhile, my friend in another state has Xfinity, and has no problem reaching the website. And I was just at a friend's who doesn't have Xfinity, and we also couldn't get to the spotify website with his service (which is municipal fiber). Meanwhile I could also open the website in my phone browser using my cell service. So definitely a Spotify issue and not Xfinity-specific.

Same same.
Like 3 days ago (Dec ~18?) Spotify via web browsers and TV apps stopped working over WiFi.
Phone (Android) app and desktop (Mac) app are fine.
Web browsers and TV work when connected to my phone hot spot (so long as the phone is on 5G and off my network... it won't work if hotspotting while the phone is signed into the network)
Tried updating everything (devices, router, TV, apps...) no avail.
Emailed with Spotify, they're useless.
Found this thread, tried updating the DNS, no avail. (I can't for the life of me access my modem info, but updated it in my Mesh network settings...).
