Xfinity hotspot

My mac is able to connect to xfinity hotspot but the speed is very slow and signal very weak while my iphone has very strong signal with fast speed. Somehow my mac probably connects to the furthest hotspot location in a different building vs connecting to hotspot  provided by my router. In wifi settings signal shows as very strong but after connecting it drops to 1-2 bars. Tried to speak to xfinity tech support but they are useless and clueless

@user_9638f8 Hi there! Glad you reached out, there are a few variables that could be affecting your signal. The equipment is one, as well as the number of devices that are connected at the time, since it is a hotspot its possible there are more devices being used at the time.

My phone has perfect wifi xfinity hotspot signal while macbook doesn't want to connect to the closest xfinity hotspot and connects to neighbors which causes weak wifi signal. And I am not able to connect to XFINITY encrypted network , the window pop up and asks for account information, then says an error has occured. Why does macbook refuse to connect to xfinity hotspot? I have very few devices connected to it and it is not over allowed limit. What is the solution??

Thank you

Great question! Have you tried removing the network from your Macbook, clearing cookies/cache, and restarting then logging back in?
