Xfinity gateway restarts every day

My Xfinity gateway restarts every day between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Pacific Time.  This is an annoyance as I am using the Internet Sundays through Wednesdays at this time.  My Comcast landline phone also goes down.  How can I get the gateway to stop the restarts or at least move the time to an earlier hour?

I'm having the same issue... which started about 3 weeks ago. Prior to that, it was not happening.  

Has Comcast implemented a change and not informed customers about a daily restart now being done?   If so, the agents on the support chat are clueless about it... and can only instruct people to tighten cables, and power off/on rest their gateways.  

By all means, please post what your outcome ends up being.

No change. FWIW, the overnight hours have always been their window of opportunity for performing network maintenance / upgrades.
