Xfinity Gateway Logon Issues

Frequently my password is rejected while at other times it is accepted.

 

I will already be logged in and trying to access another menu when it will tell me to login first. 

 

Often it will tell me I have three failed attempts when I have not.

 

This is not just with this modem.  I've had two others recently with the same behavior.

Nothing? Bueller?

 

I changed my password last night and just now I tried to log in.  First it said you have to login first.  Huh?

 

Then it said I had had three failed attemps and locked me out for five minutes.  What is going on with these gateways?

 

I want to buy my own modem and router but because I have X1 TV service you stick me with this thing.

I know how you feel. I fell the same way. It's just how service is in America.
Firstly. This problem appears to be going on since 01/12 for you.
The XFi employee who services your home just gets paid to come to your location.
The second. You just have too many devices connected. That's pretty much it. What you have to do is disconnect every device. Maybe turn them off without disconnecting.
You will maybe get a connection then. If you do clean the privacy browser tab information as well. Like delete temporary data and cookies. Just make sure you know all the passwords on paper. Or just don't delete them.
Then start working your way back up connecting devices individually. Most of the time they time out ip addresses of devices. And may say something like if your one phone is not set up properly. That's usually the problem.

Out turned out there was a node problem that was finally fixed. I decided to buy my own modem and router also.
