Xfinity Fiber: Need Help Provisioning ONT for Customer-Owned Router
I just spent about two hours going back and forth with Xfinity support, and unfortunately they were unable to determine how to configure my ONT so I can connect my UDM-Pro directly to it.
I’m referring specifically to this Xfinity support article:
https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/member-owned-router-fiber-internet
Is there anyone from Xfinity who can help with this?
Based on my experience today, it seems there may still be no clear procedure in place for support agents to handle this type of request. The representative I worked with was very courteous, patient, and genuinely tried to help, but I believe agents either need additional training on this setup or a clear escalation path to the appropriate department.
My goal is simply to connect my UDM-Pro directly to the ONT and bypass the XER10 router.
I also think removing Bridge Mode—or at least not providing an IP Passthrough option—on the XER10 was a significant mistake, especially for customers who want to use their own routing equipment.
If anyone from Xfinity knows the correct process or department that can provision the ONT for a customer-owned router, I would really appreciate the help.
