Xfinity equipment

I visited the store today to get an upgrade on my xb6 device, while expecting an xb8 or xb10 I got the xb7, is it possible to get an xb8? And why should they give me an xb6?

You should have asked while you were there.  It is likely that they gave you a gateway that is compatible with your speed tier, and that you do not need an xb7 or xb8 to achieve the speeds you are currently subscribed to.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there, user_5u00ga! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums. I completely understand the frustrations with intending to get one modem, but being provided another one. Thank you so much @NoNoBadPuppy for sharing the details regarding the speeds, and the requirements. There are many factors that would be the case with receiving the XB7 instead of the XB8. If your speeds do not match the minimum requirement for an XB8, we are unable to provide the modem or if there was no stock of the XB8. If you have a speed of above 600 Mbps download, we can certainly take a look into the account with you to explore the options to getting you the XB8. Please let us know if you have speeds higher, or if you would like to explore options with higher speeds if you do not.
