Xfinity continues not to disconnect my service despite five attempts to do so.
I have tried five different times via chat, telephone, and in-person to cancel my service and despite saying it is complete, Xfinity continues to bill me. I am appalled at this degree of willful customer abuse. For starters, the company makes it incredibly difficult to cancel at all. There is no way to just go into your account and do it yourself. Second, you apparently cannot cancel more than a couple days in advance, which I learned when attempting to cancel my service via chat. Then, when I called on the phone, I was bounced between four different agents who said they needed to transfer me to a different department to do the cancelation. Finally, when an agent strung me along for a half an hour making it seem like the disconnection was happening, they said that it never actually went through for some reason that I was never told. Then I tried calling again to cancel, to no avail because I couldn't get ahold of someone who was able to process a cancelation. Then, I finally went into the store, returned my equipment, and was told my cancelation would be completed and that I should receive an email within two hours of the cancelation. No such cancelation email ever came. Instead, I got an email with A BILL FOR SERVICE a few days later. I got on the phone YET AGAIN to try and disconnect and after listening to an agent prattle about how I could sign up for Xfinity mobile or various other plans, I was told YET AGAIN that the cancelation was done and that I should get an email confirmation in the next 24 hours. I asked her to send it immediately, not in 24 hours and she just said I would get it in 24 hours. Big surprise again-- NO CONFIRMATION. This treatment has been so shocking that I will spend whatever I have to in the future to stay away from Xfinity because this is borderline fraudulent behavior. I intend to make a report to the FCC and BBB next because I am certain this needs to be investigated.
